Pump for a field bed?

Has anyone ever heard of needing an electric pump for your septic tank and field bed? I guess they are saying we need one because the tank is lower then where they will be putting our new field bed but couldn't they just dig the field bed down deeper? Does anyone know anything about these pumps?

  1. Where do you live? Are they going to dig a new field drain or are they installing an aerobic system? Aerobic systems require no field drain and do have a pump. Where I live they told me if my field drain system failed I couldn't repair it I would have to install an aerobic system. County ordnance no field drain aerobic only. If they  are going to dig a new field drain and it is up hill it seems to me they could go to another area that was down hill. I don't know about digging deeper there could be restrictions on how deep they could go. I know there are restrictions on how close to a water well it can be. I think I would start to ask a lot of questions.
