  1. It will be on May 3rd.  I am looking forward to it, although I'm not too excited about it because I think that it is a sure-fire win for Oscar- but ANYTHING can happen, so you never know.  Oscar's big rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. later this year depends on the outcome of his fight with Forbes, so as long as Oscar stays focused, he should be able to beat Forbes and move on to the rematch (and big money fight) that he wants.  This also means that Oscar should not take Forbes lightly.  It will also be interesting to see Floyd Mayweather, Sr. in Oscar's corner and Floyd Sr.'s brother Jeff Mayweather in Forbes' corner.  Forbes was originally going to be trained by Roger Mayweather, but Floyd Jr. threatened to fire him from his corner because if Forbes wins, it would be risking his big money rematch with Oscar.

Interesting side note: Jeff Mayweather fought and lost to an up and coming Oscar De La Hoya back in 1993, so maybe he can offer some personal insight to Forbes on how to beat Oscar.  I doubt it though because I think that Oscar is just too big, too stong, and simply too good to lose to Steve Forbes.

  2. May 3rd, and why be excited, its just a set up fight for a Floyd Fight later this year.  Why would Oscar pick someone risky and take a chance on s******g up an 8 figure payday.

Only thing to be excited about is that it will be Oscar's first non-PPV fight in many many many years.  Even this though isnt a friendly jesture, its just so more people can see him fight and likely dominate Forbes, to drum up more business for his PPV later this year.

  3. I haven't been "pumped" for a De La Hoya fight for a very long time. But I will watch because I love the sport, Im not expecting to jump out of my seat though.

  4. lol no.

  5. It starts on May 3rd and i'll be going to prom not watchin the fight... I like Oscar de la Hoya, but I don't have free HBO, so I'll just pay for his fight against Mayweather so he can KO his !!!! @@$$$$

  6. nope

  7. no, why, is there a meaning to that fight other than  Oscar part of his fine tuning for Floyd?

  8. I'm not really pumped that he's fighting a lower level opponent, but i am pumped that i will be their watching the fight live, i've never seen De La Hoya fight in person so i'm real excited to what the atmosphere is gonna be like.
