Pumping and feeding?

When I pump into the bottle and feed it to my son right after can I store the remaining in the fridge until next feeding.

I usually pump up to 7oz and he never drinks it all and I just hoping that I don't have to throw it out.

  1. Well you don't want to give it to him in the same bottle. I would pump and put half in one bottle and half in the other that way you can just give him what he can handle. You can keep the other bottle in the fidge until the next feeding. Good luck.

  2. When you pump it you can freeze it and it will last for 3 months and if you choose to put it in the fridge it will last a week.

  3. If you pump then feed from the bottle you can't put that used part bottle in the fridge. saliva can get in to the bottle as baby drinks ( basically back washing ) the saliva will brake down the nutrients int the milk.  Pour the normal amount he drink into another bottle and feed him that. and the other that has not been drank from can go in the fridge or freezer.

  4. It would probably be best...... if after you pump..... give him the amount he usually eats in a bottle...... and have the other stuff stored right away.  This is to help prevent bacteria from your babies mouth from getting into the milk.... which can cause it to spoil faster.

  5. if you freeze it, it should be good for up to 3 months.. x

  6. I did if i freshly pumped it and then fed it to my baby. or pumped it and gave it to her a few hours later. without putting in fridge, it can stay fresh for 10 hours. Or i put in freezer, it can stay fresh for 3-12 months depending on the freezers.

OR what u could do that i started was pump the 7oz and feed him wat her usually eats and keep the extra on the side incase he still hungry, if hes done put in fridge and repump more later and add it to what u had left or freeze the rest for another feeding, it comes in handy if u wanna go out somewhere

  7. im curious about why you are pumping for a baby that you have the ability to feed right after you pump....why not just nurse him and pump milk for when you are away from him

  8. Absolutely! Don't dump it, ts precious stuff! put it in a storage bag in the freezer and you'll have a good stockpile soon!

  9. Yes, you can refrigerate and even freeze breast milk.

  10. Pour into a bottle what he usually drinks and give him that. Keep the rest separate and store it in the fridge immediately. That way no bacteria contaminates the fresh milk.

  11. you only have to throw it out if you heat it up or leave it out they say you can keep it in the fridge for a few days i would not keep it more than 24 h
