Pumpkins can i have some for Halloween?

Can you plant pumpkin seedlings in the beginning of July and still get pumpkins for October? I'm worried i wont see a pumpkin till its to late.Also how do you stop a pumpkin from turning soft and falling off the vine. It starts off strong they get about 2inch big then turn soft and fall right off.

Yes you can depending on the variety of pumpkins...you have 120 days  approx..with wehen you planted..and more than likely  you will be pushing it close..but you should have some by halloween..
