Question:

PunchBag Is A Little Like A Rod of iron?

Hi, I'm 19 and just got a punchbag/ gloves/ straps etc. I'm very pleased with it and its working well. Its on a wall bracket, and in a good space etc. However, the bottom/ middle bit is like punching a brick wall, even with straps/ gloves!!! Its filled with wet sand (very compactly too). I'm not being soft or anything (I just put plasters over the messed up skin on my hands and carry on punching atm), BUT I know I could get serious injury on my hands over time if I carry on like this. Its a full size heavy bag, and I was just wondering if u guys could help me make it a little less...solid. Would dry sand be better? Or less compactly packed or something? Cheers.

  1. The sand is there because it most closely simulates a human face. You do bruise your knuckles when you punch someone. So this is training in advance for that. You can try to gradually harden your knuckles with something else though.
