Question:

Punching Tips, and Fighting in general!?

I know street fighting is pretty much illegal, but I need help. A lot of people have been messing with my friend, and I want to step in and help. I've been in two actual fights; and I guess you could say I won them both by a pretty big margin. Whats my problem? I hit them both alot, and I was great at dodging everything they threw at me. I landed nearly all my shots, and I still managed not to give them any noticeable injuries. A busted lip and a broke nose is all they received. What I'm asking is what is the proper punching technique. How can I channel my full power into my punches? How can I increase my punching power? I'm not going to go around fighting kids; I hate it. But I don't want people to mess with the people that I care about and I need tips. Thank you.

  1. throw a headbutt to the nose straight away just when its about to turn into an all in scrap its too easy they wont see it coming and its pretty much fight over straight away gives a nice set of black eyes and a broken nose. I only use this cuz i dont know how to fight and dont like to fight so when people come to me looking for a fight i just want out so one headbutt they get a flat nose fight over and i can walk away. however martial arts training is by far a better option.

  2. power comes from your pivot in your feet and the twist in your hips. stand in front of a heavy bag in your fighting stance with gloves on and practice strait punches. but also you should know that there is no honor in a street fight other than protecting those you care about and therefore the notion of cheap shots or dirty fighting really only apply to competition. kicks to the groin and liver, punch to the throat, elbow to the face, and eye gouging are all very effective when done properly.

  3. Well it nice that your protecting someone but ask yourself would they do the same thing for you? Well anyways the power comes from pivoting you foot ( the one in the back in your stance) after you pivot make sure to move your hip turns to the person your about to hit. Once your done that throw your punches as fast as you can and bring them back even faster. Also, remember do push ups so that your arms get stronger.

  4. I suggest going to a martial arts school and learning Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) or a good self defense class.  Not only does it teach you tradition, and also mutual respect, so you may be able to understand when fighting is necessary, but it will show you how to properly throw a punch and combinations, when and if the need arises.
