Last night’s 38-run victory was Pune’s just 4th win of the season, which helped the side avoid the Wooden Spoon. Wright played a key role in the victory, playing a blistering knock of 44 runs off just 23 balls to help the hosts post a competitive total of 172 for 5 from their allotted quota of 20 overs, and was deservingly adjudged as the Man of the Match.
While speaking to media reporters after the match, the 28-year-old Lincolnshire batsman said that they needed to win the match for the franchise’s owners, adding that he was happy to contribute in the victory.
"Yes it is nice to sign off the tournament in good style. We needed to do it for the owners and I am happy. I am really fortunate to be part of this league with all the big names," said Wright at the post-match presentation ceremony here at Pune on Sunday.

 "Very happy with the way we ended. Tonight we showed what we can do. We stuck together really well,” said Finch at the post-match presentation ceremony after the victory.
“The crowd was amazing and the owners were very cool as well. Never really put us under pressure. It was nice to reward the owners with a couple of wins and hopefully we will do better next time. The support from everyone was fantastic,” concluded the home skipper.
