Punishment for family violence?

I'm a 19 year old girl with no previous criminal record. If I was charged by the state with family violence what type of punishment am I looking at?

  4. Man you people are so lucky with your clean records! how the h**l do you go 19 years without doing anything? Anyway, I'd have to know the details but maybe 6 months to a year.

Depending on the severity of the injuries (bodily injury vs. serious bodily injury) you should be looking at some type of probation to include anger management class, community service, fines and court costs.  Misdemeanor probation anywhere from 6 months  to 2 years, felony probation from 2 years to 10 years.  Get a lawyer1
