Like Neighboring states, HP, and Haryana, is Punjab getting moderner, it has the lowest poor rate, and seems to be developing in many sectors. But is it really. Will it be other states in India can look at as a model state, like Chandigarh is(even though it already is part of Punjab)

  1. Punjab is just a backward state like Bihar or Orissa.

Believe me it is true . Once upon a time , some 25 years ago , Punjab could be considered to be richest state in india , but it is no longer true .

Tamil Nadu is amongst the Most Industrialised state in India , after that Maharashtra , Andhra , Bengal & Karnataka .Visit Wikipedia on Tamil Nadu : TN is most industrialised in India , but Tamils will never accept it ...for whatever reasons. It is also the second largest exporter of IT after Banglore , largest Automobile Industry in South Asia ....They have Bigger private Hospitals than AIIMS ...they manufacture many sophisticated Eye Surgical Equipments ...

But blame the media ...esp northern Media ....you won't hear about it in the north .

  2. Kannada Knight does not give well-thought out answers. I am worried about the Punjab's status as the richest state in India. The drought has been occurring for quite a while due to poor water distribution. Many technology and call centers are being built in South India rather than North India. I feel that education is valued by Punjabis (especially Sikhs), but we need to work harder and make education our number one priority.

  3. punjab state is powerfull state through agriculture land .people of punjab is hard worker and located inside of H.P.and Haryana
