Punk goes head to head with Henry on Monday Night Raw SuperShow – WWE News
While Punk thought his problems would lessen after beating Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 28, John Laurinaitis made them worse. Yesterday, on Monday Night Raw SuperShow, CM Punk had to face the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry. It should be noted here that
this match was for Punk’s WWE Championship title.
The match started with Henry giving out a power show. Punk tried his level best to deliver manoeuvres that could take down the big man but they did not work. Every time Punk came up with an idea, Henry countered it. Punk delivered quite a lot of dropkicks
and sidekicks but they hardly were hurting Henry. By the end of the match, there was a time when Punk started dominating Henry. Punk delivered the big elbow drop and two high knees in the corner. After the high knees, Punk tries delivering a bulldog but the
big man throws him out of the ring. Punk, who was devastated by this time, could not make it back to the ring and got disqualified by count out.
Mark Henry was furious over Punk, so he went down and delivered the World’s Strongest Slam to Punk on the floor, which devastated Punk. Then, John Laurinaitis came out along with David Otunga telling Punk that from now on he will have to face more competitive
opponents and that he will be defending his title more frequently.
Just when John stops talking, Chris Jericho comes out of the other side on the microphone talking about Punk and their WrestleMania 28 match. Jericho then said that it was time for celebration holding a champagne bottle in his hand. He taunted Punk saying
that he should drink along with him.
Punk, who was left dismantled by Henry, could not get up on his feet to face Jericho. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Jericho made it a mark to again insult Punk by talking about his family. What happened at the end was shocking to all. Jericho smashed
the drink bottle on Punk’s head to make sure Punk remains hurt for long. If the bottle was real then Punk surely is gone for long now.
