Okay go down here where it has the punnett square of the Pp thing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autosomal_recessive

The P represents dominate traits, p is recessive.

Pp is still dominate with a recessive trait attached, and pp is a double recessive which would bring that characteristic out.

Okay i know that PP pp = Pp Pp Pp Pp

and Pp Pp = PP Pp Pp pp

but what about Pp pp = what? I would guess = 3 pp pp pp and 1Pp but i'm not sure.

and just for the h**l of it, what does Pp PP = ? I would think all PP but maybe 1 Pp and 3PP

  1. It is easier when you actually draw out the cross until you are more familiar with it.

Ex: Pp x pp= 2 Pp and 2 pp would look like this:

    ---P          p

    p          Pp        pp

    p         Pp         pp

  2. Pp pp = Pp Pp pp pp

Pp PP = PP PP Pp Pp

  3. Pp x pp = 2Pp and 2pp

When you do a punnett square, you take all the possible combinations of having one letter from one parent and one from the other.

So, the Pp parent can give its offspring a P or a p.

The pp parent can only give p and p.

So, when you make all possible combinations, it's Pp, Pp, pp, pp.

Pp x PP = PP, PP, Pp, and Pp.

  4. Pp pp = 2 Pp and 2 pp

    PP Pp = 2PP and 2 Pp

  5. Drawing out the Punnett Square makes things so much easier. If you draw it out, you don't even have to memorize anything.
