Puppet thingy?

What is the thing called that holds the puppet strings? lol.. like that wood thing. does it even have a name? lol

  1. The wooden thing is called a control. There are two types of marionette control; one that is made in a vertical way (ie. a cross), and the other is made horizontally. You can see how they are made at this marionette maker's website:
