Puppy help, please!?

My 11-week-old puppy is attached to me! She follows me around the house, cries in her crate, and has to be touching me when she goes to sleep! I love her, but I need to be able to leave the house sometimes or put her in crate without her whimpering. Also, I would like for her to sleep in her crate without her whimpering!

  1. It doesn't matter what you do, perseverance is the key. Keep doing what you're doing and eventually it will work itself out, however it might be separation anxiety, so you should ask your DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine) about that.

  2. a small amount of your body smell on a stuffed animal

will help the puppy when left alone.

you must not give in to the cry

  3. My pug did that when I first got her. She was put in her crate at night and after about a month she got to the point of when I got ready for bed she went to her crate on her own. She loves her crate. All I have to say is time for nite nite and she goes to her crate. I think that you should just stick with the crate and let her get use to it. She will stop whining after a while. Try not to talk to her while she is in it. That will allow her to get use to not feeling like she has to have you at night. Good luck!

  4. i know how you feel, and it is healthy to leave the pup alone sometimes, if this continues the pup will grow dependant on you.

its usually the first week, after she will learn not to whimper.

    good luck

add: the puppy dsnt have seperationanxiety, all puppies are like this, you are their new mother. its completely normal.

  5. This is called bonding. Anyway, when putting her in her crate, accompany her until she sleeps. After she sleeps, try to walk away quietly. Make sure she isn't pretending to sleep.

  6. It's called separation anxiety. The pup will get used to it with time. Just be patient, she's only 11 wks old and usually needs to be around her mother. Just leave something of yours the pup can play with, like an old sock you don't use, so the pup won't feel alone.

  7. Try giving her a stuff animal and put her in her crate.

Don't get her out if she whimpers, she has to get used to it.

She WILL get used to it after a couple of days in there (:
