  1. He is being kept separate from other dogs to make sure he is not caring any illness.  He'll be a little lonely but that will only make him more happy to see you.

  2. All that they do in quarantine is keep an eye on hime for a week, to make sure that he doesnt show any signs of illnesses.  Dogs can transfer diseases and things, so it is standard procedure for shelters to seperate a new dog from the others until he has passed his test.

  3. Sometimes when you transfer dogs from state to state from a shelter its required by state law to make sure that you aren't bringing in a dog with any diseases that could affect the pet population in the new state.

Is it a ten day quarantine, or the seven day? Typically, they're watching for rabies (ten days is the life limit for dogs with rabies), checking for parvo virus, distemper, kennel cough, etc.

  4. I would ask them specifically WHY he is being quarantined.. YOu do not want an agressive puppy. it could be that he bit someone or it could be he was sick... ask them
