  1. You should carry you pup or use the crate.

Pups should not be allowed to walk anywhere other dogs have been before they are fully vaccinated.

There is too high a risk of picking up diseases.

As long as your puppy doesn't go on the ground then he will be safe from any problems.

The vet will advise when he is allowed to go out for walks.

My vet advises to wait until 2 weeks after the final vaccination.

  2. where are you getting a puppy from that its never had any shots done? Even a shelter should have gotten the dog UTD on shots and if it's a breeder that a HUGE red flag.

  3. Actually, carrying your pup in its crate would be a good idea because she/he may feel kinda achy and puny after getting shots and not want to walk or be carried home in your arms.  The danger of getting exposed to something on the short walk to the vet is pretty low, but if you're going to have the crate anyway...  why take chances?

  4. crating or carrying should be just fine

congrats on getting a new family member, and on starting off on the right foot- Good Job

  5. Well I think walking to the vets the crate or carrier would bounce all over and make the puppy sick.  I would carry the puppy instead.
