  1. if your pup is eating and drinking well it will be ok.  Generally you want get your pup from 7-8 weeks.  This helps them become part of the pack so to speak.  This was a bad breeder but there are many out there and with plenty of love your puppy should be great.  Maybe much more attached to you as a pup taken early can tend to form a tighter bond with their new mommy or daddy.  If you are worried about nutrition you can purchase replacement formula at a pet store or even walmart and bottle feed or mix it with his food.

  2. I would report the breeder to the Kennel Club. Pups shouldn't really be sepearated from their mother and litter-mates until 7 weeks of age, even though some people seem to think that 6 weeks is okay. It's not.

  3. look up PUPPY GOLD

guaranteed to work wonders while he develops

and feed you dog better food

    i recommened innova evo

  4. it is ok just comfort your puppy i got mine when it way just 10 days old =]

  5. Most weaning is done by week 5 in larger breeds of dogs.

Are you putting water is with the food? If not start doing this. This will help the puppy a bit..do this until he is about 7-8 weeks old then give dry food.

  6. Puppies are usually weaned by five weeks, but should still be with mom until six to seven weeks old. They will be fine with out mom at five weeks. but do not give the puppy milk of any kind, it will make them sick. Once they are off mom they no longer need milk. Just a good quality puppy food dry until they are one year old. Puppy food is better than adult dog food because it has extra calcium and more nutrition for puppy. so don't worry the puppy will be fine just be sure to get him the puppy shots. He should have his first one at six weeks old and second at eight weeks and third one at twelve weeks old. Take him to the vet for rabies shots when he is old enough.

  7. If he's eating alright, and the vet says everything is in order, then it's all good.  However, because of his early age you're going to need to watch out for a few behavioral problems that tend to crop up.

First, watch out for food guarding.  An easy way to take care of this is to feed the puppy from your hand for these first few months.  But if you find he's guarding food, then work on dropping really good food as you approach his bowl and teach him that you being around his food is a good thing.  Eventually, put your hand into the bowl and drop treats.  Really though, it's something you'll have to watch for.

Second, fear around other dogs or lack of confidence OR over-exuberance and lack of bite inhibition.  All of these can be solved if one of your friends has an adult dog who is friendly with dogs who you can use as a nanny dog.  I say adult because they have all of their shots and should be safer than a puppy who may have diseases, and because adults will correct a puppy if they get overexuberant or biting too hard.  However, it's also a good idea to take the pup to a puppy class.

Third, lack of bite control on humans.  You'll need to start working on this from day one.  Like I said, handfeeding is a great way to work on this.  Basically start with your hand flat and food in it, and whenever you feel tongue say "good gentle puppy" and whenever you feel teeth take the food away and say "ouch."  After an ouch, make the puppy sit and then feed again.  After 3 ouches, mealtime is over for 2-3 hours.  (Plan on 4-5 meals a day for puppies if possible so they don't get food-stressed, which can also lead to food aggression.)

You'll also want to wrestle with your puppy and teach your puppy that if he bites you then the game ends.  Start with his hardest bite, and then work towards making that unacceptable, then move onto a less hard bite and make that unacceptable.

These are just normal problems that come up with puppies who are taken from their mom and siblings too early (10 weeks is the best age for removal, 8 being alright.)

The rest is just basic puppy knowledge.  When approaching something he's unsure about, let him go at his own pace, give treats to make it pleasant or play a game around the scary thing, and just focus on exposing him to as many things as you can (safely so he doesn't get sick or hurt) but in as pleasant a way as you can.

  8. First of all the puppy was too young to be taken from its mother as they shouldnt really be rehomed until 8 weeks and the breeder that you got him from is bot a very good breeder if this is what she is doing and should be reported

  9. He or she has been taken away from its mother and nervous and needs some TLC it will get over it. I never feed my puppies dry food, i feed them  proper puppy meat that is fortified with mineral and vitimens and as for taking it away from its mother at 5 week 6 days that should be fine unless its the runt of the litter. It will be fine. Give it time  OK.

  10. 1 day too soon from the limit.

Pups can go to their new homes at 6 weeks although 8 weeks is recommended.

He is nervous because every pup is nervous to go to their new home. He'll get over it when he gets comfortable.
