  1. You may want to check the difference in protein content between the new food and the old.  Too much protein can cause loose stools or even diarrhea.  If there is a very large difference, you may want to make the change more slowly (a larger ratio of the old food mixed with a smaller ratio of the new).  Odds are, though, that it's just a matter of his system adjusting to the change.  Mixing the foods together and slowly adding in more of the new food should solve the problem.  Just be certain, as one poster noted, that he is getting plenty of water to replace fluids lost while he's having loose bowel movements.  Good luck.

  2. that is not good... what kind of food are you feeding him?? he needs raw meat... and don't give him grapes or grape tomatoes they ruin his kidney also no cooked chicken bones they ruin his rib cage... it also may be a sign of an allergic reaction... but you need to check with the vet for a check up...

the vet will give you all the meds. he needs if he is sick

    hope this helps!!

  3. nothing to really worry about the only thing is is that some dogs just cant get use to new foods so if the problem is enlongateed its best to swich back or to a different one

  4. keep iim on puppy food with puppy milk, dont try to much solid food yet.

the food is probably too rich for his little belly. thus loose stools, change it back an then gradually put a bit more of the other food in with it, it could be he has a sensative stomache so go easy on him

  5. it takes dogs to get use to the new food so it will not eat the new food until it's hungry. there p**p will change but if it changes very strangely then i would consult the vet

    but don't worry to much

    hope this will help xx

  6. well i got a 6 week old pitbull puppy and she eats everything in sight but i think its because its shiny. Just dont worry. Mabe you are giving him the wrong food. Like food he hates. I give my older dogs beniful and my pitbull puppy has puppy chow. But it may be to young for the food you give him. the pieces should be small. my older dogs are chiuaua/dachound mixed but they eat big food. but they love it. I hope this helps. I wish you the best of luck with your puppy.

  7. Dont worry unless it becomes more like diarrohea or he starts being sick then get him to the vet as puppies become dehydrated very quickly.  Its probably the change in diet and will clear up in a few days.  Drinking is more important than eating much

  8. don't worry yet but take him into the vet find out whats wrong you may have changed his food to quickly if you slow mixed the food until he was used to it it should be fine

  9. i dont think you have to worry as long as he is his usual happy self its all good, you could change his food or if it doesnt change anything you could always take him to a vet

  10. Are you changing him over slowly over a 2 week period of time?  If not, it will upset his stomach and he'll end up with "Soft-Serve".  You need to mix mostly old food with just a little of the new and slowly reverse the mix until he's eating all new.

Hills isn't a great food - Switch him to a high quality brand with no fillers.  Do some research here and stick with something in the 5-6 star range http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_...
