  1. You can find em in most comic shops, hobby shops, and even a few regular book stores (Barnes and Noble, Books-a-Million, etc all have em where I live although in limited quantities and usually only the latest book released)

Also keep in mind in about 1.5 months 4th edition will be out. If you've got friends who are already playing I'd find out if they will be switching. If they are, or if you don't know anyone that plays I'd wait til 4th edition before investing any money in new books.

If your friends are already playing 3.5 (or 2nd or 1st for that matter) then you'll need to find compatible books. 1st and 2nd edition books can usually be found on ebay and other sites. 3.5 is the only version being made right now so it's the only one you'll find in the stores.

  2. Any comic or Hobby shop should cell it

Like if you live in Everett WA look for hobby town USA or Comic STOP

  3. http://boars-head-inn.blogspot.com/

  4. Ebay?

  5. www.amazon.com is a great place to look for books.  It will give you the core rulebooks, as well as any others you may need.  Be sure to look into the books before you buy, though.  If your fairly new to gaming, I suggest just the core books.  Also any bookstore should be able to special order them for you if they don't have a copy in stock.

  6. I would go to http://www.wizardsofthecoast.com

    and find their product locator.

Also I think that before you spend a lot of money on books, you need to know that they are going to release a new version in June.  So you might want to use a previous version for cheaper or might just want to wait until June to get the latest and greatest.  I have bought three versions already and will not be upgrading for various reasons.  Ebay will give you a good price on the older versions.  I bought a good number of books from them and never had a problem.

  7. Usually stores like Borders Books & Music, and Barnes & Noble carry them in the gaming section (which is usually near fantasy/sci-fi books).

Plus if they don't have certain books you're looking for, they can usually order them in for you at no cost and they're there within days.

  8. not sure if this will work but it said store locator --- Dungeons & Dragons -- http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=fin...

  9. You can get the books in bookstores or cheaper on ebay if that's is what you want.  If you can find a group that is already playing with a dungeon master then you really don't need anything but dice.
