Purchasing/Installing a Boxing Heavy Bag

For a boxing heavy bag, When I buy it can I just install it whereever I want? Can I install in my room? I don't know if its very sturdy. Please tell me what I have to know before installing/purchasing a bag

  1. The ideal place is within a garage setting, or better yet, if you've got the area, your basement. They sell a hanging bracket that fits up between the floor joists 16" on center that bolts through the joists. Nothing will dilodge your heavybag from that racket. Makw sure you get a good size heavybag ( some too light will swing wildly around when hit) IMO, the 100 lb. bag is ideal. There are VG bags at Proboxingequipment.com Get the PHB 100 bag. Good luck.


  2. room wouldnt be good, unless you can locate the biggest wood piece underneath the walls and do it from there.... but the garage area would be the best, but if you dont have a garage are you can buy one of those bag stands, which can hold up good for practice, cuz your not going to try to knock the bag with power punches

  3. if you have a garage or a basement, put it there...i don't advise your room, unless it's huge
