Question:

Purchasing a motorcycle.. Winter or Summer?

I've got a dilemma that I just can't get my mind of off. I've been interested in buying a bike for quite a while now, but now I've got enough money and self awareness to purchase one. I have been looking at the 06 and 06 cbr 600 RR's but they are a bit more expensive that what I'm comfortable with spending. I understand that used bikes especially are less expensive during the winter. I was wondering about how much they actually reduce in price compared to during the summer time. I was also wondering if the price difference would be worth waiting for another 4 months to purchasing a bike. I understand riding a bike during the winter may get a bit cold but i tend to like the cold weather. So, the bottom line is, is waiting for the winter for the price to be reduced worth waiting another 4 months to buying a bike even after waiting for so long to save the money to begin with? help me out guys. I'd appreciate it.

  1. you state you enjoy cold weather--this is OK if you live in a cool state rather than a cold/wet/snow/ice state --as then you need to be very proficient on motorcycles to survive.---the different price for winter is minimal --but ---you may find a real good bike from someone who wants to offload his machine because he has given himself a fright on ice or snow.  now get out there --buy a bike --use your head when riding & enjoy a great way of life.

  2. i would personally buy it now as if u dont buy it it could sell and it isntcold riding a motorbike as you move around alot more than you think

  3. If u want it just do it

  4. motorcycle sales, air conditioning work or sales, anything thats seasonal is cheaper in the off season. also cheaper at the end of the model year when the new models are hitting the showroom floor.  If money is an issue than wait and save afew dollars.

  5. Well, if you've waited so long, then another 4 months won't hurt. Besides, they'll be 4 months older so, yeah a little bit cheaper. and IMO, bikes tend to be like conertibles, when the weathers nice, they command a premium, when it's not, they drop considerably, unless it's something thats always going to be desireable... If you could hold on, I would, and keep looking until you find the right one in your price range. You'll get one...
