  1. Go to http://www.fadfusion.com/selection.php?p...

  2. id say bestbuy. just know that plasmas use almost 2x's the electricity as a lcd. and should not be used on any game system. they are mainly for low/no light areas as the glass can act like a glossy laptop screen. but plasmas have true blacks and whites. so its a balance act.

  3. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of incorrect information on plasmas out there.

    1.  Yes, they use slightly more power, not 2 or 3 times more.  And they do produce a bit more heat.  But with the cost of heating oil, more heat might not be a bad thing......

    2.  A quality plasma will last every bit as long as a LCD.  Panasonic makes both (LCD in limited sizes) and they rate the longevity of their sets nearly equal.  20 years + based on 7 hours a day, 365 days a year.

    3.  The glass screens are not as much of a glare issue as they used to be because the manufacturers are applying a glare reducing coating.  And if you have your heart set on a plasma, you can always get some pull down light blocking blinds at Wal-Mart.

    4.  A quality plasma will deliver every bit as good of performance as any LCD.  In high motion, high action viewing content, the plasma will look better with less motion blur.  Unless you go with one of the new and expensive 120 ghz LCD's.......

    5.  DLP and rear projection might be cheaper to purchase but their longevity without maintenance costs presents a problem.  Some sets will need to have bulbs replaced in as little as 30,000 hours and those bulbs can be as high as $300 a pop.  Not to mention the service call and the labor.  Plasma & LCD are both totally maintenance free technologies.

I'd recommend Best Buy to shop in and learn about what's out there and what you can afford.  As a rule, they are usally quite informative!  If budget is a concern, think about a Panasonic 720P.  You won't be sacrificing a wonderful picture.  I've watched the 720P and the 1080P units side by side and really, the difference is so slight......  The native contrast ratio is higher on the 720P units as a rule.

    Good Luck & have fun!

  4. I would stay away from plasma TVs.  They are heavy, more prone to failure, use a lot more energy, and have lower quality compared to LCD or DLP.
