I am looking on Craiglists at used cars, and was wondering has anyone ever brought a car online and if so how was the experience and would you recommend anyone to do it?

Also any suggestions on what might be a good website to look for cars online and what am I to look for when buying a used car: what questions to ask, whats an acceptable amount of miles, car history things like that.

Thanks

  1. never never never buy a car sight unseen .

  2. do not commit any money to a used car on line until you have seen the car in person and driven the car ---- there are some real bargains that look great on the net and some of those are royal headaches  ___  in person and up close  ... sorry that you cannot trust some sellers but that's where  "" let the buyer be ware"" comes into the purchase  --- and it's your hard earned dollars ,, don't waste them or get taken  ...........

  3. Just watch out for the most prolific craigslist scam

Theres one on there all the time.  Car seems really cheap.  Seller will pay for shipping, and allow you to return it if you dont like it.  They want you to put money in an eBay or Yahoo account, - or send via moneygram, western union.  They will even pay for return shipping.

Do not fall prey to that scam.

If its on CL, then you should deal locally.  Beware of local ads for cars that need to be shipped.

The only time I buy cars online, sight unseen, is when I know I am going to work on them anyway.  I buy them to turn into race cars, or project restoration.  I would be hard-pressed to buy my daily transportation without getting to see, touch and drive it.

  4. don't buy a car online. look onto kbb.com and really see what values cars should be worth. even choose the features that you want and it can calculate prices for you. your best bet for purchasing a car is to go to a local dealership, who have a better buying policy than independently sold ones. then, use kelly blue book (kbb.com) to see if they're scamming you or being fair. good luck!

  5. you shouldn't buy a car on line, its never a good idea to do this, you cant see or drive the car,and you can loose a lot of good hard earned money by doing this,id rather buy one locally than off the Internet, its buyer beware when you buy one off the Internet, good luck.
