how much would a big vibraphone/small marimba cost? what is a good brand to buy and which one is better.

Don't worry about the brand name just yet (although Musser is probably the most well-known); and neither one is better than the other. They are two different instruments.

i like the deg, ross & musser brands for mid range cost stuff,...

be prepared  to pay over $3000 to get a decent instrument!
