Question:

Purevision vs Air Optix Night & Day contact lenses?

Any experiences of extended wear lenses? Which ones would be better for overnight use? Which one is worse in terms of giving you dry eyes etc?

I have not tried Purevision, but I am tempted as it is so much cheaper and I suspect, I was given Air Optix by my optician as it is so much expensive.

  1. Nite and day are my favouirte lenses before lasik. They are great but much more expensive. But there is a new lenses called biofinity. It is by coopervision. heard that it is good.

  2. I have not worn the Air Optix, but have worn the PureVision. I would not sleep in them. They do well when you have to wear them longer than normal during your waking hours, but get "dirty" or "foggy" if you wear them while sleeping.  My eye doctor said "they are approved for 30 continuous nights of wear, but I do not recommend wearing them that way" and was told to take them out each night and clean them. Another option is the Focus Night and Day. To me, these were extremely comfortable, and when I did sleep in them, had no problem upon waking up. My eyes were never dry, nor foggy. But, I am getting a completely different brand for myself as I really do not want to sleep in my lenses.
