What is the difference in a purity ring from any other ring?

A purity ring is supposed to remind you to stay pure (that is, not have s*x) until you get married. Then, if/when you do get married, you replace it with your wedding ring. At least, that's what I was told when I got mine.

A purity ring is supposed to signify a vow of chastity.   It has, as far as I know, no magical powers to protect said purity.  I guess the idea is that instead of listening to the sweet words being whispered in your ear, you'll look at the ring and remember that you promised not to do the deed.

A purity ring means that you plan on staying pure in your sexuality until you are married.  This means obtaining from doing anything that is against what the Bible believes a person should not do until they are with the one person they will spend the rest of their life with.  Any other ring can mean a million different things to the wearer, since we are such a diverse nation anymore.  Hope this helps!

Most of the time a purity ring will say True Love Waits, and it is a symbol in most faiths that you will stay pure (a virgin) until after marriage. If you are looking to get one they usually have them in your local  christian book store or online. When I purchased mine it had a key intertwined in a heart instead of saying True Love Waits on it.  Some people like to use their own rings to symbolize a purity rings. Like you could easily buy a diamond promise ring from some jewelry shop and make it your own purity ring, it really is just a symbol of a promise of abstinence.  Well I hope this helped.

Nothing.  In fact, from what I have seen, most teens wearing them use it as a way to convince their parents they aren't having s*x.  Also, a common thing is to take them off for the s*x act itself and then say well if it is just with one person it is okay, etc.  So purity rings don't do anything, don't mean anything.. they are just another fad, and mostly the 'meaning' is ignored or they are used as a ploy.

a purity ring is more of a reminder. people who are seriously devoted to staying pure(or not having s*x before marriage), they commit themselves to abstinance by wearing a purity ring, they dont have to be specially made or anything, they can just be rings. most people have them engraved with a special message or something. but they dont have to.

A purity ring is a symbol of that you have decided to not have s*x until you are married and that you will remain pure.  Most other rings are just for looks, wedding rings are to show that you are married and that you are sealing your love with whom gives you the ring.  Hope I helped.
