Purpleish color Under my big toe! Help?

Was helping my sister put down some new flooring and stepped on a staple that was partially sticking up out of the floor it went into my big toe and it bled quite a bit.I applied pressure to stop the bleeding and it stopped but bled alot.I applied some antibiotic ointment and cleaned the Puncture.The puncture is almost in the middle of my big toe on the bottom.I had a band aid on it and took it off to shower to find that now On the side and a little under my big toe is a weird color almost like the color of a plum kinda maroon but dark.It doesn't hurt and my toe is swollen there but its not where the puncture is.What is causing the discoloration Iam kinda freaked out here.Could it be just blood pooled up under the skin where it bled and then I spent hours on my feet?

doesnt sound like anything too awful or threatening....probably just a blood blister or dried blood that is trapped in the puncture hole...if it doesnt clear up in a few days or fade away you probably would want to see a doctor to make sure you didn't contract tetanus

you already have the answer, its just a collection of blood give it a couple of days.

That's really bad it may be infected and you could lose a toe go to the ER immediately!
