  1. Oh now how WOULD you expect to get all those lovely BILLS without the US Post Office???   Of course the purpose of the post office is to distribute and transport MAIL.... (letters, bills, packages and all those wonderful advertisements we get evey single day except Sunday.....  It sends packages and mail all over the world...  it sells stamps, it is an information center.. and for SOME,  it is a place to apply for your passport...MILLIONS of pieces of mail are moved each day in one of the most efficiently run organizations in the world.   At one point in time, there was no such thing as UPS or DHL or Fed Ex and it was only the post office that delivered packages along with mail.   It is STILL to this day less expensive to mail a package ANYWHERE then it is to send it by FED EX or UPS or DHL.
