Purwaningtyas Elyzabeth beats Sarada Jasti in first round battle at India International Challenge
Purwaningtyas Elyzabeth, a spirited shuttler from Indonesia, showed a wonderful aggression in Women’s Singles first round and outshined her local rival Sarada Jasti at the Tata Open India International Challenge 2012 on Thursday, December 13, in India.
The un-seeded Purwaningtyas, who has been working hard in training sessions to elevate her skills for the last few months, played with greater level of confidence and easily demolished her Indian opponent in just 20 minutes.
Indonesian player did not show any mercy to her local challenger in this opening round contest as she played at the highest speed and easily won it in straight sets with a comfortable margin.
Sarada, on the other hand, failed to respond positively to her home fans as she could not cope up with the incredible speed and power play of her Indonesian challenger and eventually lost the contest in a vulnerable manner.
In the starting game, Purwaningtyas performed extremely well from the initial points and kept the pace of rallies fast to maintain her upper hand over her challenger.
The aggressive Indonesian lady showed that she has attained top quality skills in the arena and eventually successful in getting a strong position in the arena.
Purwaningtyas did not spare any chance for her opponent to fight back until the end of opening half and remained in complete command of rallies.
The battle proceeded in the same way after the mid-game interval as Purwaningtyas did not lose her control in the arena.
Purwaningtyas did not slow down the pace of the game at any stage and easily bagged the first game with a stunning 21-11 margin on the board.
In the second set, Purwaningtyas played with stunning speed without leaving any room for Sarada to find a good flow.
Until the one-minute interval, the incredible Purwaningtyas remained consistent in playing with command and variations and remained ahead on the board.
Purwaningtyas was calm and composed in the arena in the final points of second set and won the second game with a decent total of 21-17.
The Indonesian shuttler easily thrashed Sarada in straight games with a completely dominating 21-11 and 21-17 score on the board.
