Pus forms on scraped finger after shower. what does this mean?

i scraped my finger on the floor. it looked fine for the first few hours, just a normal scrape, then after i wet it with water it started turning into yellow pus. why did getting the srape wet cause this? what does this mean?

When the scab gets wet it looks like that. Water plus scab equals grose.
