Push mower starts easy pulsates dies?

Question

3.5 hp. tecumsey removed carburator cleaned..fuel tank cleaned fresh gas..pull start easy start..pulsates rpm high to low then dies after a few moments of operation..this motor has automatic choke and rubber button primer any ideas as to what might cause this...seems when one problem occurs with one piece of equipment...other equipment starts to fail...any body else have this kind of luck?...any advise would help

Sounds loike a dirty main jet. It is in the center of carb under the bowl. carb cleaner or small wire to clean..

You might have a leak in your intake manifold(for want of a better term) between your carb and engine.By " cleaned the carb" you did blow out all the passageways and s***w holes??As far as luck I have to agree but most of my failures are in June for some reason and totaly unrelated(ie refridge,mower,car,computer)

is the blade tight? did you check the oil? have you replaced or cleaned the air filter?

Tommy got it right.  The carburetor needs to be properly cleaned.  That means remove, disassembled, and soaked in a good carb cleaner, none of that spray junk.  Put it back together with a rebuild kit.  Kits are usually available at small engine repair shops.
