Ok maybe I'm not as spoiled as I thought I was, because this thing about push presents just...irks me. You should be happy enough to be bringing your child into the world, you shouldn't be expecting your partner to buy you something for it!

Definitely not diamond earrings or a Coach bag..sheesh. I can understand if your partner buys you something like a one hour massage for when you feel better, or when you're up to it pays to have your hair and nails done...but designer bags and jewelry? What is the point of this?

It's not like you're going to be able to enjoy the diamond earrings anyways, you won't be going anywhere that fancy that fast unless you're a celeb!

  1. I can understand why a loving husband or partner might want to give his wife a special item of jewelry or something as a keepsake to mark the occasion. I know my dad gave my mum a ring when she had me and a ring when she had my sister and she wears them to this day and says they are more precious than her wedding ring to her because they represent her children. I think a designer bag or something is a bit tacky but hey, their choice huh? But I wouldn't personally expect anything, I don't think I'd even think about it I'd be so focussed on having my baby, my mind wouldn't really be on presents. I don't know. When I had my baby I was single and the only presents I got were ones for the baby and I certainly didn't feel like I missed out. But nobody is harming anybody by giving their wives or girlfriends a present, it is a personal gesture, live and let live I say.
