  1. i would say do about 60 push ups all the way

  2. that's a good number of push-ups but what else are you doing with them? push-ups will help your arms get stronger which is important. the main muscles used for your punches are your core muscles plus your lats and shoulders. you should also be doing sit-ups, knees to elbows (hang from Pull-up bar and bring your knees to your elbows), pull-ups, air squats, air lunges, running (long distance and sprints), box jumps, jump-rope, flutter kicks, wall ball shots (this is when you do a full squat while catching a medicine ball off the the wall), etc for more information on fitness and nutrition go to crossfit.com

as for weight lifting it is always advisable to Wait till you are at least 18 to start. not that 18 is any magic number in connection to lifting but rather your body won't get the full benefit from it before then. plus even then heavy weights are not useful to boxers. more important to do lots of reps like 50 or even eventually after years working your way up farther than that. good luck. send a a message if you have any more specific questions.
