  1. Could gum things up - I would drain it and start over.

  2. one tankfull will not hurt, but prefer you not use it or dilute the the mix with a new batch of proper oil and gas mix. The difference between 2& 4 cycle oil is the 2 cycle oil is a low ash type and meant to be burned. the 4 cycle with continued use  will  create a carbon build-up and start a pre ignition and cylinder scuffing situation.

  3. Don't do it! Drain the oil-gasoline mixture and replace with the proper ratio of 2-cycle oil to gasoline, usually in the range of 1:12 to 1:50.

You can purchase some branded 2-cycle oils in approximately 2.6 ounce bottles that, when mixed with one gallon of gasoline, are supposed to work in place of any recommended mixing ratio from 1:1 to 1:50. I have no experience with that, but it might be worth trying.

Why not use ordinary 4 cycle motor oil? It contains additives to control foaming and prevent corrosion when the oil is placed in the crankcase of a 4-cycle engine. This type of oil was never intended to be introduced deliberately into the combustion chamber of a 2-cycle engine, where those additives can foul the sparkplug and possibly prevent proper lubrication of the piston and cylinder of a 2-cycle engine.

  4. Perhaps in a life and death emergency but just for convenience NO

2 cycle oil is intended to provide lubrication to the cylinder from the "top' of the cylinder as it is mixed with gasoline before the engine is started.

the oil is continually "used up" as the engine runs.  4 cycle oil lubricates the cylinder and other engine parts from the bottom (the crankcase) and circulates being used over and over again until you change the oil.  These oils are not interchangeable they work in much different ways and are formulated for each use.  solution: buy some 2 cycle oil.

  5. Oil : 25 cents.  Chainsaw: $300. You make the call.
