I Have to go on a LONG road trip tomorrow so was just wondering if it is better to fill up my car all in go with a lot of fuel or whether to put in like £20 at a time or something? Which would be easier on my pocket? Any ideas which one i should do?

  1. It's more economical, although more hassle, to fill up a few times rather than drag the weight of a full tank of petrol around.

  2. OK, fill up early in the morning.  Believe it or not, you will get more fuel in you tank that way.  Let's say your car's fuel tank holds 60 litres, that will weigh 60 kilograms.  Less than the weight of 1 extra passenger.  However, if you live in an out of the way place, you might be able to get cheaper fuel closer tot the big cities.  If you live in a big city, chances are the fuel will be cheaper than in rural areas.  You will have to figure that out.

Be sure to rest up before you leave, and only drive for 2 hours at a time before taking a break.  Ensure your spare tyre is good, and your phone is fully charged before you leave.  Pack your lunch and take it with you.  Fast/junk food is not real good for you while travelling.

Enjoy you trip.  Be sure to let us all know about all the fun you got up to.
