Why are we paying so much for gas? It's called capitalism, they are charging as much as they think we will pay.  They know we basically have no choice as the vast majority of americans have become too soft to do anything like stop driving and ride mass-transit, or a bike, to work.  We can hate the oil companies all we want, but it is our own d**n fault, not theirs.

First of all, you need to show us that these increased profits are not the result of increased market share, more efficient operations, etc.  

Next you have to factor in the effects of the weak dollar, inflation and the costs of oil on the world market.

For example, if the dollar loses 1% in value this will increase the price of a gallon of gasoline by just over 3 cents.

BTW are you aware that the state and federal governments make more profit of the sale of a gallon of gasoline (taxes) than does anybody in the supply chain?

We're paying such highly unreasonable fuel prices due largely to the speculators in oil

Scumbag speculators buy oil, store it until the price rises due to the resulting lack, which is what they want.  With the lack (scarcity) the price rises, then the pinworms release it onto the market and make a sky-high fortune.

It's nothing but >CREATED< SHORTAGES THAT CAUSE THE PRICE TO RISE AT THE GAS PUMPS.  THAT'S ALL IT IS!

Something is going to have to be done with the speculating pinworms who serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever.  They are nothing but parasites taking away from the averqge working and underpaid American.  Whatever is necessary to do away with these pinworms is the only cure for this.

This speculator/parasite stunt goes for all other commodities such as food and is the cause for all of our economic worries.

WANNA' HELP THE ECONOMY?  -- KILL, CLEAN, STUFF A SPECULATOR,AND STAND HIM IN A STORE WINDOW LIKE A CIGAR-STORE INDIAN!

It amazes me to hear Americans talk. Do they not have this Democracy? I thought that if you have this Democracy you can stop the uglies being made againt you. I thought that in America, government bully can not push you around and make you ride bikes or take public mule. Thought in America, you cant get pushed all around.

Hillary spoke about this in NC, she said she was going to invest 26 billion in non-oil fuel powered vehicles if she makes it into office. This should help out in about 6 years, if you can afford the vehicle first. $!5,000.00 gasoline powered car, or $45,000.00 hybrid. I think I will stick with a four cylinder or a bike.

Thank the War in Iraq for this....If we disrupt the production of Iraq and destabalize/ embargo and eventually go to war in Iran, then the Saudi cartel (bush family included) will dominate oil productoin of the Mid-east....and Haliburton will reap billions in contracting profits....

Why are we paying so high for gas prices...gas prices are so high because we will pay anything to drive big gas guzzling machines that we are addicted to...and Arab countries under the influence of The Muslim Brotherhood's holy war use a monopoly association, OPEC to manipulate the amount oil produced (pumped) to artificially increase the value of the liquid while the trans-national companies with no allegiance to any sovereign nation take advantage of the opportunity as supplier to the addicted to make as much money as they can from the situation.

When you wake the gas guzzling public up you will need to start a twelve step program for the addicted gas user to make any difference.
