Doesn't that mean LESS JOBS for Americans? Is this one of the big issues with immigration? so why would we want to spend billions on a wall and servaliance equipment when we can hire more border patrol agents?......I don't get it!

  1. Any time the Gov. hires a person it is a cost to society. Private businesses hireing is good! Government hireing is bad.

  2. Good point.  Let's create more jobs by putting armed men doing surveillance at the border.  OH...and of course we'll have ALL those new jobs that illegal aliens are TOO ILLEGAL TO DO.

  3. If you stop the criminals from entering and send back the ones already here someone would have to do the jobs that the criminals were doing illegally. Simple math. Less criminals = more jobs.

  4. Of course YOU don't get it, YOU see nothing wrong wrong with unchecked illegal immigration. Perhaps some glasses for that myopia would help.

Perhaps we should just mine the border region and call it a day

  5. Because you can't pay off a fence to cross the border.

  6. That makes sense. Hire Americans to do the job. What the fence will cost could employ thousands for several years. An electronic fence is a farce here's why, have you seen any piece of electronic equipment yet that can't be disabled by a MAGNET? Think of the repair cost for this and you realize it's an ongoing problem they'll face. The same with an electronic chip implanted that some want. Billions would be wasted by the time they figured out this won't work. There's just some jobs that can't replace a person hands on and this is one.

Like I said it makes sense unfortunately our gov spells sense, CENTS and DOLLARS. They don't want it solved that's why the ridiculous ideas.

  7. The main reason is because there are not enough border patrol to catch all of the illegals who cross - you would have to see it for yourself to fully understand.  If 2 agents detain a group of 5 illegals they have to sit and watch 10 more groups cross with impunity.

Its very sad that our country has come to this.  All we ned to do is remove the rewards and incentives for the illegals to ever want to come.  No more free educations, no more jobs, no more anchor babies, no more free medical (except for emergency use to transport them back home), no more welfare, no more housing, etc.  THEY WILL LEAVE AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE!

Because once we remove the rewards and incentives for illegals to conitnue to invade this country the fence will deter many of those remaining drug dealers from ever attempting to cross.

  8. We cannot control the border without that fence.  I would not like to see the border patrol officers because there are other, and far less expensive ways to deal with the issue.  The Electronic Fence in the outback, the two tier fence close to urban areas, and a flat damned wall in the urban areas.

Using officers to do the same thing would be very, very, very expensive unless the Border Patrol was privatized.

  9. Look, even the Chinese couldn't do it and they had The GREAT Wall...

So, what makes anyone think that a wall is going to do any good? Where there's a will, there's a way. You can climb over, you can dig under, you can pay someone off to let you through... but one way or another, THERE GONNA' KEEP COMING.

So, why waste more of MY tax dollars on such an ignorant idea? Creating more Border Patrol Agent positions will employ more Americans - who can stop crabbing and complaining that there's not enough work, because the only way they won't have a job is if they're too d*** lazy to work one.

Meanwhile, create a decent process for people to migrate to the United States if they so wish w/o it costing an arm or a left leg.

    There. Win-win situation for everybody.

  10. because just border patrol itself obviously isn't working!!

lets add some eletrocution wire at the top of the wall too....

  11. Putting up a wall would be bullshicsm!  If you take out all illegal aliens whos going to do the jobs you wantto good for cheap.  I really hate to say it but if you get rid of illegal aliens whos going to cook your burgers or mow your lawns?  And besides, how are illegal aliens harming anyone.  They just want to work and in my vision anyone who wants to work should be a citizen and should have to go through all the c**p you have to do to be one.

  12. I think it's funny people think a wall will do any good.  It may make it a little harder,  but they will find ways around it.  Moat and landmines.  Moat and landmines.

By stopping the flow of illegals less jobs would be threatened.  A few hundred security jobs for a few hundred thousand entry level jobs is a fair trade.

Edit:  raw, so if a bunch of middle age illegals are doing those jobs what are teenage citizens supposed to do for initial work experience?  And americans have taxes taken out, illegals driving down income and working w/o paying taxes isnt helping anyone.  Including them. We would be more than happy to work those jobs for a livable wage.  The companies are concerned w/ more profit for themselves, thus making illegals "slaves to whitey" and a threat to all we've worked for involving fair wage.

  13. Border patrol agents are corrupt more often than its worth

we can put up a wall, automated defences and such, and have the cost done, with very lilttle maintenence, more agents is a contant cost.

If we use agents, they can only arrest illegals once they pass into the US, then it costs for housing & food, and trials before deporting back to their appropriate country... a wall and automated defences might case a few less to make it over the border, so these costs will be reduced.

If it was up to me, we would have lethal defences, razorwire, electric fences, and machineguns/land mines... but that won't go over well unfortunately.
