Put yourself in my position...I'm in a good steady relation with my GF of nearly 7yrs now but we want to move.

Question

From the UK to Portugal. We only rent here so we just need to serve 28days notice to quit.

We will only rent in Portugal until we get properely setteled there. We can't speak portuguese properly yet but are learning now. We have some good things here regarding furnature, new TV, Washing machine and nice big oak chairs that are heavy to move, lots of stuff like that.

Would you sell it all here and buy again over there or ship it accross?(really need to save money) so if i move there i have 2 hire a van and drive myself(hasstle). We don't have any savings so we need 2 secure work/apartment 1st B4 we go.

Do you think it can work out?

In a nutshell, please put some thought into your answer and try 2 weigh up the pro's & cons of it all.

We really want to move there but theres a risk factor involved as we are secure here yet fed up with the UK and it's rubbish weather.

We went portugal last year 4 two wks and loved it and found the culture good. Were looking @ algarve..

Well 2 things to consider, 1 if you are driving to Portugal and taking furniture you will be fine, if you ship your stuff you will pay big time at the arrival dock.(even if they tell you you don't)

Also it isn't that easy to get a good job in the algarve, they pay a minimum amount to foreigners, so you would have to start your own business, many have tried and  failed, the other thing is an apartment, it will set you back at least 600euros a month, plus bills, so you are looking at 750euros a month. I am not trying to put you off but think carefully before you make the move, good luck.
