  1. I'm afraid that people that complain about the US media are simply unaware of the scope of lies in Russian media. From Kursk to Nord-Ost to Beslan - it was lie after a lie. Now they can't even claim that they are telling the truth, hence the Putin's line in question - even with all major media in tight control they can't make people believe them, so they decided to make people think that the truth simply can't be found anywhere.

To give you an example, this is a Fox piece about american-ossetians caught in the war: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5idQm8YyJ...

This is Vesti's 'translation' of it: http://rutube.ru/tracks/927574.html?v=15... , making it look like Fox ancor does not let his guests speak, because they are pro-russian.

Now, Clinton lied about Monika and Bush lied about Iraq - fair enough. Both cases had their consequences (although I wish there were much more consequences for Bush), and lies were exposed. Nothing even remotely similar happens in Mother Russia - nobody in the goverment gets his *** kicked like Rumsfeld or Tennet. But the journalists (like Anna Politkovskaya) get killed instead.

BTW, that Fox-Vesti story developed in a totally unbelievable way: in his CNN interview Putin mentioned the Vesti's fake as if it was real. I'm guessing he felt prey to his own propaganda machine...

So, I guess US media lies better - in fact, it lies so good that russians can't find the lies and have to invent them. Or is it just... we tell the truth?

  2. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

  3. Putin is right;-p

  4. Our media doesn't always tell the truth, but that doesn't mean they often lie either.  Matters of opinion can't be considered lies anyway, unless the speakers knows they are being false.  The intellectuals among us know how to read between the lines.  At any rate, Putin has no leg to stand on.  His media is controlled by the state, and it all broadcasts the same message.  At least in the US you can tune into competing messages.

  5. I hate to agree with Putin, but he's right on that one.

  6. How those who just tell their opinion and don't even pretend to be using and analyzing raw facts can lie? :)

That's how your media informs you: "Putin has said he is right. But Bush has said what Putin is wrong! So Putin is liar, so Russia is dangerous, so US must wage war against Russia, because Russia wants to enslave us all!"

I'm exaggerating of course, but as an experiment try to find any facts, proofs and evidences in US' media reports.

  7. Thank you for this question.

    Who's story is His-story?

  8. American News Media is Liberal Biased, and full of lies..

    Believe it all you want.

  9. Lol. Does that mean that russians do not trust thier media or russian media can not lie ?
