  1. uh yeah sure  as long as  you wipe the hard drive  and its an eide  hard drive there is no reason why it should not work

  2. Are you planning on slaving the drive? meaning, are you planning on keeping the 98 drive and just using the XP drive for storage?

If you are planning on putting the XP drive ar the primary drive, then you will have issues when running XP. First, all the old drivers would still be loaded, and XP would have to find all the dew devices in the 98 machine. Not to mention, some things might not be found, so you will have to replace those items, if drivers aren't found.

All your info will be there, but you might as well format the drive, so it will be a clean and fresh start.

  3. It wont simply run as xp. Assuming you have enough ram you will wind up with a system stoppage either way. However if you have enough ram in the 98 pc you might be able to reformat the hd and install xp.

As such xp is designed not to xfer to another pc. It detects hardware changes and .locks you out.

  4. You will not be able to use the XP drive, because Windows 98 does not support NTFS file system. The only way you will be able to "see" WinXP drive is if it's FAT32 converted.
