Putri Sekartaji treads into quarter-final round of 2012 Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open
Women’s Singles expert Putri Sekartaji P played flawless badminton and secured a quarter-final berth in Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.
She thrashed Nadya Puteri Febryna Sari with a final result of 21-9, 9-21 and 21-17 in a hard fought 35-minute tussle.
This timely win setup her next clash with another compatriot shuttler Ais Suparman and if she continues her unbeatable run then a seat will be waiting for her in the semi-final round.
Putri Sekartaji will employ all of her confidence and experience which she has gained through an impressive performance in the preliminary stage.
In the pre quarter-final round, she alarmed all the contestants by sealing a splendid victory. Though, she was not in prime touch but still the opening and ending games belonged to her.
Putri Sekartaji set the foundation of her dominance straight away in the beginning of first set and maintained that upper hand all the way to game point situation.
She prevailed in a couple of uninterrupted rallies and then strengthened her grip by piling up an indomitable total of 11 before the interval.
After the one-minute break, she injected more intensity in her attack and cornered the opposing shuttler. She pocketed this crucial match point by registering an overwhelming margin of 21-9.
The following game brought life back into the contest as this time Nadya did not repeat previous mistakes and swept the table with a huge difference in the final score.
She started the beating from very stroke and maintained that rhythm until last shot was played. In first half of the set, she unleashed a flurry of productive strokes and established an unassailable lead way before half time.
Nadya did not lose focus even after the mid-game break and avoided a straight-set defeat with an impressive knock of 21-9.
