I put a tube in a 15" tire for my riding lawn mower. However I cannot get the tire completely back on the rim. I know there is a way to do this with a block of wood and a vehicle but I am not sure the particulars. Can anyone help me get this half on half off tire back on the rim????

  1. My husband just had the exact same problem. A friend put it back on with a tire iron and screwdriver-2 screwdrivers would work that's just what we had lying around. He used one screwdriver to make sure the part on the rim already stayed on. Then pry another bit over with the crowbar. Move the screwdriver so that part stays on...pry another bit over the rim...til its done.

  2. I had trouble getting a tubless type re-inflated... Don't get stressed, spend the five bucks at the tire shop and Get'r done!

  3. The wood and a vehicle part is for breaking the bead of the old tire! Go to a hard ware store and get two tire remover irons .They are cheap and are formed with round edges so you don't pinch the tube. You can use two s***w drivers but you have to Be very careful not to pinch the tube . Use soapy water or spray silicone works best around the bead of the tire. After you have one side of the tire bead on the rim put the tube in then start opposite side of the valve steam and push down on the tire Use your tire irons to work the bead back on the rim a little at at time.Once you get the tire on the rim fill it with air .then let all the air out. and fill it again that will seat the tube in the tire!

  4. you may also want to use soapy water on the bead of tire to make the tire slide on the rim better
