Putting Baby in a new daycare

Hi All!

In October my DD will be 14.5 months old and we will be putting her in a new day care Oct1. We are building a house and will need to change centers due to the location. Her Aunt is the director at the one where she is now, and she's been there since 6 months old.

How can I make putting her in a new place with strangers an easy transition?? I'm sure I will be a bigger wreck than she will but Id like to make it easy on her too!

Any help will be much appreciated.

  1. Your baby is cute! Anyways, the tranition depends if s/he has gotten attached to anyone.

  2. well check out places find a good one a stay with her there for one day or you could have a family member babysit

  3. You're right, you probably will be a bigger wreck than she is.  My daughter took the transitions way better than I did.  Take her in a couple days before for a few hours or so so she can get to know the care providers and the other children so they aren't strangers when you have to leave her there.

    You'll both be fine!

  4. The week before she starts take her there to visit the room she'll be in & let her play with the other kids & get use to the teacher & find out if she'll have the same teacher everyday - that way she can get use to that teacher- & when you drop her off go early so you can spent a little time with her in the morning & when you pick her up stay for a few minutes- it really helped my son when he was in daycare.
