  1. A lot depends on how much the recyclers must pay to get rid of garbage.

It makes about the same sense for a recycler to sort out garbage as it does for the source people, other than for compostables... compost and generally biologically decomposables really should come out early. But having all the rest separated at its final sorting plant still makes sense.

However, recyclers may want to be paid for sorting out your stuff, and for getting rid of the garbage. That is only fair, because you would have had to pay to get rid of it if it were trucked off to landfill.

Leaving non-biodegradable materials, all of it to be sorted centrally may be the best solution.

  2. generally they will throw out everything .   a lot of rcycling companies can't afford to clean the stuff so they toss it

  3. I don't know if it's true or not since it could be a ploy to prevent people from doing it, but my recycle company says if there's trash in the bin they consider the entire bin garbage and it goes in the landfill.

I'd like to think that's not true and they actually just sort things out, but you never know.

  4. In NYC Subway, NYC subway post-recycling.

In NYC Subway, trash cans are also part of Recycling.

After that, NYC Subway employees sort out Recycle.

MTA Metro-North, Long Island Railroad has recycling bins for Newspaper, Bottles/Cans and Trash.

I never seen but according to NYC Sanitation Dept website, they give fine but which I never seen.

  5. In most recycling companies, the garbage gets sorted out from the trash.  Usually, this involves human sorters and a maze of conveyor belts.

However, it is not good to throw trash or any other items the recycling companies do not ask for into the bins.  It makes the sorting process more time-consuming and therefore more expensive.  Furthermore, the unwanted materials end up going to the landfill anyway, and at the recycling company's expense.

Pay attention to what your recycling company says they can take.  If they say #1 and #2 plastic bottles only, do not put other plastic items in even if they are #1 or #2.  The thickness of the material and the use of dyes affects their ability to sell it to materials manufacturers.  The same goes for many types of glass like plate glass and Pyrex.

So do your recyclers a favor and keep the garbage out of the recycling.

  6. well nothing really. it all goes to a recycling center where it gets sorted, but that makes it harder

  7. it safe the world thqat why we have earth week the other week this is a good thing. um u can use these bottles a whole buch too

  8. it helps us to conserve resources.

  9. they sort through the recycling anyway...so it will just be sorted out

  10. My guess is that somebody has to take the time to fish it out! Maybe those people at your school will, due to Karma, get those jobs!

  11. they sort everything and then create new objects with it

    with all due respect,
