I have a chrysler newyorker year 1999 and i want to put a subwoofers in it. I dont want to change my speakers however. I only want to install a Large subwoofer or a few ones, along with a new stereo. Will the subwoofer and stereo work well with the old speakers? or what would you suggest?

  1. I have the same thing already in my car and if you adjust the treble in the speakers to as high as it can go and the bass as low as possible it sounds pretty good.  I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer with one 12in. sub and stock speakers

  2. It should work fine. The problem you are going to face is, with subwoofers, the midrange and high pitch sounds will probably get drowned out by the low-end, resulting in very muddy, unclear music. It isn't a huge deal, just something to think about. Just get the subs and amp that you want, and if it makes the sound too muddy, just buy some inexpensive replacement speakers. A decent pair will run $80-$100.

The stereo will be fine with the speakers too, and (depending on the model) may add a little more power into them than stock.
