Question:

Putting baby in her own room?

My 7 month old will be sleeping in her own room tonight for the first time as she has grown out of her moses basket and in the past few days has tried to climb out.

I feel quite emotional as there is now a gap by my bed, and I miss her even though she is only next door.

How did you other moms cope? did baby sleep better or did it take a long time for baby to adjust to new surroundings?

  1. hi my son slept much better hes coming up for 1 soon i think i put him in his own room at 6months i hated it at first the same as u empty space next to my bed but u get used to it and u will get a better nights sleep now x*x

  2. I know how you feel! My son sleeps much better than before but I do miss him, hes been in his room from 4 months and is now 6 months.

  3. its very understandable! my daughter was sleeping her own room when was 6 months, i remember first night, i get panic very easily and worrying too much, but realised she is fine. If your baby has learned how to sit up, lower your cot mattress down so she won't able to climb out. but you can check on her like every 15 to 30 mins, she will be ok

  4. I feel your pain. I suggest if it to hard try sleeping in her room for a few night.

  5. I spent the first few nights straining my ears, trying to hear every little sound that was coming through the baby monitor.  Baby was fine, in fact he slept better than he did while he was in my room!

  6. I know exactly what you are going through! I absolutely hate having my baby in her own room and I sleep alot worse than when she was in with us! For me it's been like going back to how nervous i felt when she was first born and I hardly slept for fear of something happening to her in the night. She, however, sleeps with no problems at all and generally goes through the night most nights. It's been about a week now and I think I am starting to get used to it, I guess it's another hurdle to get over and I'm sure there will be many more to come!

  7. My three babies were fine it was me that had trouble sleeping when they moved. It may take a few days but as long as you have a monitor or you can hear her then you will both be ok.
