Question:

Putting in extra milk in my cereal?

I added a little bit more milk to my cereal this morning...I don't know why, but now I'm feeling pretty bad about it. I won't be having any protein all day, though, so I keep thinking that it's a good thing I had a little more now. I'm just afraid I'm going to gain all sorts of weight...technically, I am supposed to be gaining weight for health reasons, but I don't want to get used to adding extras to foods in case it's hard for me to stop once I gain normal weight. But about the milk...I feel guilty but part of me tells me I shouldn't since it was good for me.

  1. You are probably supposed to drink like 2 or 3 cups a day of milk. So how much do you normally have and how much was "a little bit more" ?

Milk is good for you :-) Try not to worry about it. ... And what kind do you drink? If you are trying to gain weight, I would guess that you are having either 2% or whole milk. If you do get use to having too much milk - later on you can cut back on a few calories by switching to 1% milk.

Obviously you should not go overboard, but remember that if you do gain too much weight with your new eating habits - there are always lower calorie alternatives. Example: Sometimes I get in the mood for a huge plate of spaghetti. I use ground turkey ( which is lower calorie than ground beef) and replace about 30% of the noodles with shredded cabbage. The cabbage substitute sounds icky, but honestly - once you add some sauce and seasonings, it's pretty good.

Anyhow, try not to worry about it. :) You are just helping ensure that your bones are strong.

  2. may be its good feeling but be aware of side effects

  3. Milk is ok to have "a little extra" of. As you mentioned, it's good for you. One pound equals an additional 3500 calories... I'm sure there was only just 50 calories in the extra milk.

You should only feel bad if you polished off a whole bag of chips, or a whole tray of cookies.

Don't cry over spilled milk. :)

  4. breakfast should contain the most amount of calories and carbs.  the body has no true storage capacity for dietary proteins, which is why they need to be consumed with each meal.

  5. Milk is really good for you. Especially for weight. It helps burn more calories in the midsection. Its harder for your stomach to digest dairy and therefore you burn more calories during digestion and these calories are mainly burned around the midsection. They say that 3 glasses of milk a day can help lose 61% belly fat.

  6. Guilty over adding just a little bit more milk? What the h**l, that's only like 30 more calories, don't worry about it.

  7. You shouldn't freak out! All you did was add a little bit of extra milk to your cereal, its not the end of the world and it isn't going to alter your existence of daily life. Protein is good for your body, you need to be eating proteins but milk isn't a protein its more calcium than anything. If you are supposed to be gaining weight for health reasons, eating a little extra isn't going to hurt you as long as you dont sit down and eat a box of oreos and a gallon of ice cream, you will be fine. Eat the health fats such as avocados, the are really good for you, lots of rice and whole grains as well, whole grain breads, whole grain cereals, brown rice is great as well, fish is extremely high in proteins and other nutrients and very good for you to eat, try salmon filets or tuna filets. If you eat the healthy proteins and healthy fats you will gain weight healthfully and not on ding dongs and chocolate bars. Dont, and you shouldn't feel guilty about the milk. I promise you will be ok!

  8. Seriously, MILK is GOOD. There's no such thing as too much milk, actually. Everybody needs it. About gaining weight? Maybe after you gain enough weight, you can switch to skim milk or low fat milk. :)

  9. omg u are still totally anorexic...and milk only added like 40 calories! and it is good...and actually just doing that wont even make u gain anyweight

  10. It's not healthy to be obsessed about food.  Make healthy choices and give your body proper nourishment.  Plently of fruits and vegetables.  You should have some protein at every meal.  Check with your doctor (if you have't already done so)

  11. wow dont think so much...its a bit more milk it wont kill u

  12. Milk has calcium which is a necessary nutrient for strong bones and teeth. Do not feel guilty over one extra pour of milk. You will not gain weight from this. One cup of milk = 123 calories. I don't know how much extra you put in your cereal, but think of it this way: There are only roughly 15 calories per ounces so if you added 3 extra ounces, that's only 45 calories....which is not enough to cause weight gain.

  13. Unless you have cholesterol or triglyceride problems, don't worry about it.  Most people don't seem to realize that the brain needs a certain amount of fat to function.

Unless you are obese, which you obviously aren't, get over this obsession with weight.  Size zero is UGLY!!

  14. Don't worry about it. Milk is healthy and is full of calcium to help "you bones grow big and strong"!! Haha good luck.

  15. CHILL!

seriously a little extra milk wont kill you!

....unless your allergic....BUT! i think you

need to stop freaking out and just eat like a normal human

    being!

  16. milk is good for you

    strong teeth ; strong bones

  17. oh my, i really think you are over reacting. Adding a little extra milk wont affect your weight!

  18. You are seriously diet obsessed, cop on to yourself it's a little bit of extra milk... big deal like!!! You shouldn't be starving yourself anyway, think of all the poor kids in Africa that are starving for no reason! Just grow up and act your age, IT'S MILK!!! GET OVER IT! you're not going to gain like 10 stone just coz of milk... oh my god... get over yourself, stop being so self obsessed!

  19. Extra milk in cereal is really not something to worry about. Really.
