Putting kids in different school.?

We were forced to move in the middle of the school year last year. The school district allowed us to keep our kids in the same school. How ever they are now saying that we have to keep our kids in the school that they are going to now. I don't like the school. I don't like the teachers and I don't think that they treat my daughter the way that she should. (She is a recovering ALL patient.) I want my kids to go to the school that the other kids in our area go to, however I was told that I couldn't have a choose. I had to do what ever the school district says. So here is my question... What can I do for them to allow me to put my kids in the school that I want? Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  1. This makes no sense. You kids should go to the school you are zoned for, that is what you want correct?

We just went through this for next year. My granddaughter needed a school that offered advanced courses comparable to the school she's leaving. We had to go to the school board and get it OK'd. For her K to 5 classes she went to a school out of our area also. It was due to her before and after school care and she needed to be close to her mothers work. The school board okay'd that before she entered kindergarten and it was good though the entire K to 5 period. Call the school board, I know that they can accommodate you.

The one we just went thru for middle school was much harder but I think mostly due to misunderstandings.

  2. Your children have to go to the school district in which you pay your taxes.  In order to pick and choose, you will have to try private school or pay tuition for a different district.

  3. we moved as well and into a different school district and was told the same thing well i went to the local board of education filled out an application for only 5$ and was able to choose the scholl i wanted my daughter to attend.maybe you can try that...good luck
