Putting lotion on legs...?

Why does it hurt when I put lotion on my legs? When they're dry, like not right out of the shower?

Does the lotion have lanolin as an ingredient?  It's a common lotion ingredient, but it irritates a lot of people's skin (including me).  Look for lotions without it to get rid of the sting.
