I would like to put on a Freestyle Snowmobile event this February, but i am not sure where to start. I have received permission from the city to hold the event at the local rodeo grounds. I have a 3 bands lined up, and a few local sponsors to my disposal. I have never put on a event of this type. There will be no racing here. I would like to have a freestyle competition consisting of big air and tricks. I know some basics on the construction of jumps and landing ramps, but not sure if i should use snow or metal/wood ramps under the snow. any tips, pointers or past experiences would help. This will be taking place in Salmon Arm BC, Canada about 45min from the popular Revelstoke Snowmobile area.

  1. You should have metal/wooden ramps under the snow... This will keep everything in better shape...

  2. Get a legal binding contract that if someone gets hurt, you, the city, and any others aren't responsible, trust me this is a big deal.   Metal and wood ramps are good because you can get good gaps and make a snow landing ramp. You should find someone with a lot of experience in your area to help you out, I'm sure in your area it won't be too hard.
