Question:

Putting the case for the EU - whats stopping them?

I keep hearing pro-europeans complain that noone is putting the case for the EU - only the negatives get mentioned.

Have you ever wondered why they spend their time complaining about the case not being put, rather than spending that time actually putting the case?

I have wondered - the only reason I can think of is that no-one can actually think a case - thats why noone puts it !

What other reason could there be?

  1. They are saying that nobody speaks for it because they are being told to say that, or steered to say it. They don't question it with logic because they are not able to. They are drones only saying and doing what the big boss tells them to.

Of course there is no case for the EU, it's a dictatorship that wants to eliminate all individual cultures. There can never be anything good about that. As with an abusive partner, people may know on some level but they are not able to think clearly, only to do what they are told.

  2. they're expanding and have to wait until they stop.

  3. the voters of the uk voted to join the eec (although there is an element of doubt about the outcome) a free trade orginization , certainlly not a political melting pot ,there has not been a subsequent vote allowed by the dictator BROWN i.e. BRUTUS stab in the back , so that being the case the membership of the EU is null and void as it has not been ratified by the voters .

  4. This is why they won't have a referendum - because they know they'd have to put the case and they can't think of one because they know its all to do with greed and self interest only.

Put a Question time free for all on about Europe with frontbench members of all parties and Nigel Farage and Farage would wipe the floor with them (if that Dimbleby fellow would let them argue like Robin Day used to)

  5. As you say, there IS no case for the EU from a British perspective. It's a great idea for continental Europe, but everything is so out of step with what makes Britain "British" that it just can't work there.

    EDIT

Harriet... The very fact that they consider Tony B-Liar to be a candidate for their president shows that:

    1. they don't have Britain's best interests at heart

    2. they are out of step with Britain

    3. they don't deserve to be taken seriously

  6. I do spend some time trying to think of the good side of the EU i just cannot find one you know not a serious one.

May be the rest of Europe are happier with it as most of them have lived under dictatorships while Britain has in the past always fought them.

i realise why they have such things as common purpose in Britain so we can be conditioned towards a full dictatorship even the last few prime ministers were mild dictators if you look at them logically.

    Good question

  7. dunno, but most people seem to be like that... it's easier to whine than reason...

  8. Who cares?

Britain is just an American colonial possession anyhow.

All you have to see is how every British prime minister from Thatcher to Blair has done exactly as the Americans have commanded them to do.

  9. Harriet, I totally agree - the case HAS been made, people just aren't listening and jumping on the anti-EU bandwagon. There are advantages - just be a bit more open-minded.

  10. There is no case to put.The supporters of the European Union have nothing to say. All they can do is make verbal attacks on those who oppose it.

  11. The case was made, the Union is large and growing with everyone eligible keen to join. This may have escaped you.

  12. its probably the fault of the EUski and the fact there is nothing good about it to put up a pro case
